I was messing around with keyboard controls in actionscript earlier, and I now have a breakthrough!
I was thinking to myself 2 weeks ago: "It's gonna be a long time before I figure out how to make Hoji move correctly with the keyboard..."
And here it is, an interactive keyboard controlled Hoji
I'll probably update this with a few more options in the future, and possibly an enemy you can fight with a health bar (if i can get the health bar working right).
Just don't move Hoji too far out of the window, he might dissappear

If he's not moving with you're pressing the arrow keys, you probably have to click the Flash window. It should work after that.
I'm a cunning genius if I do say so myself
(I'd offer to give you an .fla showing you how I did this, but I don't think you'd be able to open it without Flash CS3.)
